Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS).
The GHS is a system used to classify and communicate chemical hazards using internationally consistent terms and information on chemical labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
The GHS system uses pictograms, signal words and hazard and precautionary statements to communicate information about the hazards of chemicals and the precautions necessary to ensure safe storage, handling and disposal.
By 1st January 2017 manufacturers and suppliers are required to have correct GHS labels and SDS’s for all hazardous chemical supplied. For more information on GHS, please refer to the Work Safe website for guidance:

Has the product formulation or quality changed?
No, the formulations and quality have not changed. The change is only due to regulations associated with hazard identification.
Has the hazardous nature of the product changed?
No, Mirotone have been supplying GHS compliant SDS’ for the last few years. The only change is that the pictograms are now also on the labels or can.
Have there been any changes to the Dangerous Goods and Chemicals covered under The Standard for the Uniform Scheduling of Medicines and Poisons (SUSMP)?
There have been no changes to the Dangerous Goods and Poisons regulations. Mirotone products will continue to be labelled with dangerous goods information in accordance with ADG7 and poisons regulations as required under the SUSMP.
Do we need to relabel products already supplied?
End users of hazardous chemicals will not be required to relabel or dispose of existing stock, however from 1st January 2017 all product supplied will require GHS labelling and SDS’.
